Athol Credit Union has long been committed to finding high-tech solutions that work for our members. There are all sorts of online options for managing accounts and paying bills within the ever-changing world of banking. But, as a small credit union, finding user-friendly, functional, and affordable solutions can be an issue. We must invest wisely in our technology usage and make absolutely certain that our investments make banking easier for our credit union members. Our number one goal when it comes to technological advancement is to make sure changes work for everyone. We want you to bank at your pace, not ours.

That said, we are happy to announce a new partnership with ACI Worldwide to provide ACI Speedpay to our online toolkit. ACI Speedpay is a great tool that allows ACU members to make loan payments online, wherever they are. Over the next few months, ACI Speedpay will be integrated into our online banking system, allowing our members to easily and quickly make payments on their loans without having to send us a check. No paper, no postage – just a simple, online transaction that can be done from your computer or phone.

That’s not all – we’re just getting to the best part! This fall, ACU will implement ACI moBills. This mobile wallet feature allows ACU members to make cash payments on their loans at more than 60,000 participating retail stores. Here’s how it works – ACI MoBills produces a barcode in the app that corresponds to your loan, the store clerk scans the code, and you make a payment in cash. It’s really that simple. Members can make their ACU loan payments from any of these retailers across the country. While we love to see everyone at the branch, this allows more flexibility for our members who prefer to pay with cash.

While safety and social distancing are concerns, some ACU members who have a greater reliance on paying with cash might find fewer options available during the pandemic,” says Courtney Fifield, president and CEO of ACU. “With ACI Speedpay and moBills, we can provide members with mobile billing and payment choices, as well as the ability to pay with cash at participating stores across the U.S. We want to ensure the greatest flexibility and payment experience possible, no matter where they are.”
